Welcome to Issue #55 of One Minute AI, your daily AI news companion. This issue discusses a recent announcement from OpenAI.
Introducing ChatGPT for macOS
OpenAI has officially launched a new ChatGPT desktop app for macOS, designed to enhance productivity and seamlessly integrate into users' workflows. The app, available for macOS 14 and Apple Silicon (M1 or better), allows users to access ChatGPT with a simple keyboard shortcut (Option + Space
), making it easy to summon the assistant from any screen. This integration supports various functionalities, including uploading files, taking screenshots, and having voice conversations, thereby facilitating a more interactive and efficient user experience.
The new desktop app is part of OpenAI's broader update, which includes the introduction of the GPT-4o model, promising significant improvements over previous versions. The app is initially available to Plus subscribers, with plans to extend access to free users in the coming weeks. A Windows version is also in development and expected to be released later this year.
