Issue #31: Expanding GitHub Copilot with even more knowledge
GitHub announces Copilot Extensions
Welcome to Issue #31 of One Minute AI, your daily AI news companion. This issue discusses the newly announced GitHub Copilot Extensions.
GitHub unveils Copilot Extensions
GitHub recently unveiled GitHub Copilot Extensions, expanding the capabilities of the AI developer tool through a partner ecosystem. These extensions allow developers to perform tasks such as building and deploying to the cloud directly from their IDE or GitHub.com.
The extensions aim to streamline workflows, reduce context-switching, and enhance productivity by integrating various tools and services. Organizations can also create private extensions for internal tools. This marks a step toward making software development more accessible and efficient through natural language interactions.
GitHub Copilot Extensions are supported in GitHub Copilot Chat on GitHub.com, Visual Studio, as well as VS Code. The initial set of partners offering GitHub Copilot Extensions are DataStax, Docker, LambdaTest, LaunchDarkly, McKinsey & Company, Microsoft Azure and Teams, MongoDB, Octopus Deploy, Pangea, Pinecone, Product Science, ReadMe, Sentry, and Stripe.
